The initiative is designed to address the financial requirements of families of landholding farmers by providing funding for various agricultural inputs, thereby promoting optimal crop health and yield in line with expected farm income and household needs. Through this program, the Central Government disburses ₹ 6000/- annually directly into the bank accounts of qualifying farmers via the Direct Benefit Transfer system, with certain exclusions applicable.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna Benefits
The financial help of Rs. 6,000 each year for every family will be given out in three equal parts. So, each part will be Rs. 2,000. These will be paid out regularly, specifically every four months during the year. Here’s a clearer breakdown:
Total Annual Benefit: Families will get a total of Rs. 6,000 over the year.
Installment Amount: This sum will be split into three equal pieces, so each installment is Rs. 2,000.
Distribution Schedule: The payments will be made every four months. Since a year has 12 months, here’s how the payments will go:
- The first Rs. 2,000 will be paid out at the start of the year (Month 1).
- The second Rs. 2,000 will come four months later (Month 5).
- The last Rs. 2,000 will follow another four months after that (Month 9).
- First Installment: Month 1 – Rs. 2,000
- Second Installment: Month 5 – Rs. 2,000
- Third Installment: Month 9 – Rs. 2,000
Purpose of the Benefit: This support is all about helping families by giving them a consistent income throughout the year, making it easier for them to handle their expenses and boosting their overall financial well-being.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna Eligibility
Eligible Beneficiaries:
- Small and marginal farmers with land to work on
- Farmers living in both countryside and city areas
- Landowners whose records are recognized by the government
- Just a heads-up: no institutional landowners
- Also, no government workers (except for Group D/multi-tasking staff)
- People who pay income tax are not eligible
- This includes professionals like doctors, engineers, and lawyers
- Plus, retirees bringing in ₹10,000 or more each month won’t qualify either.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna Apply Process
Online Process
You can apply Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna via the Common Service Center. The following groups with higher economic status will not qualify for benefits under the scheme:
- All landowners operating institutions.
- Farm families in which one or more members belong to the following categories:
- Current or former holders of constitutional positions.
- Current or former Ministers and State Ministers, as well as past and present Members of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, State Legislative Assemblies, and State Legislative Councils.
- Former and current Mayors of Municipal Corporations.
- Former and current Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
- Individuals currently employed or retired from any office or department of the Central or State Government, including field units, Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs), or those associated with government-autonomous institutions. This also encompasses regular employees of local bodies, excluding Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV, or Group D employees.
- Retired pensioners receiving a monthly pension of Rs. 10,000 or more, again excluding Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV, or Group D employees mentioned above.
- Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants, and architects who are registered with professional organizations and actively engaged in their professions.
