Krishak Bakri Palan Yojana is a flagship welfare scheme of the Himachal Pradesh Government aimed at strengthening rural income sources through goat farming. In many hill and rural areas, goat rearing has been a traditional livelihood for poor and landless families.

Recognizing this potential, the state government launched this scheme to provide financial support, training, and improved goat breeds to eligible beneficiaries. The scheme mainly targets economically weaker sections, including small farmers, landless laborers, unemployed youth, and women.

Under this scheme, selected applicants receive goat units at 60% subsidy, which helps reduce initial investment and encourages self-employment.

Krishak Bakri Palan Yojana Himachal Pradesh Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill all the following conditions:

  • Must be a resident of Himachal Pradesh

  • Belong to General / SC / ST / BPL / Women / Landless category

  • Annual income ≤ ₹2,00,000

  • Applicant should be unemployed

  • No family member should hold a government job

  • Must complete goat husbandry training

  • Should own or construct a goat shed

    • Own funds OR

    • Constructed under MGNREGA
